BUILT FOR THE ENERGY TRANSITION
Energy Learning Lab was founded by Szilvia Juhasz, a business intelligence consultant, educator, and trainer, whose career spans finance, data analytics, and enterprise systems across corporate, nonprofit, and academic sectors.

Inspired by a lifelong connection to the energy industry, Juhasz saw an opportunity to leverage her own expertise in data analytics and professional training to provide solutions to a key challenge facing the industry: developing a skilled workforce to fill positions needed to support a resilient, electrified, and sustainable energy future, - starting with Microgrid Systems.

Energy Learning Lab
The energy transition is transforming how power is generated, distributed, and consumed.
An increased demand for electricity, aging grid infrastructure and extreme weather are just a few of the factors driving the urgency, while the increasing adoption of distributed energy resources (DERs) and energy management platforms, abundant solar in many parts of the country, and advancements in energy and climate tech, provide diverse solutions - and many reasons to be optimistic about our shifting energy landscape.
INTRODUCING

Why Microgrid Systems?
Microgrids address many critical energy transition challenges: Grid-tied microgrids can offer stability to the grid, provide clean back-up power for critical infrastructure, and offer complete energy independence for owners of buildings and infrastructure, or for communities with no main grid connection. Microgrids also power EV charging infrastructure and electrified fleet vehicles.
Beyond their scalability and operational rigor, microgrids are also an excellent learning tool for understanding broader, decentralized grid infrastructure and the emerging players in decentralized energy systems (including the roles of aggregators, digital twins and Virtual power plants).
In collaboration with Cleveland State University, INCOSE and the Cleveland Engineering Society, Juhasz lead the development of a first-of-its kind workforce development program covering the foundations of microgrid systems, and modules on systems engineering to aid in microsystem design.
